Konetix ("we," "us," "our," or "Konetix") provides IP address reputation scanning, blacklist monitoring, and related network intelligence services to businesses and developers. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information in connection with our platform, API, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

1. What Data We Collect

a. Account & Registration Data
When you create an account, we collect: name, business email address, company name, job title, billing address, and password credentials.

b. Payment Information
Payment details (credit card numbers, billing information) are processed and stored by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store raw payment card data. Stripe's privacy policy is available at https://stripe.com/privacy.c. Service Usage DataWe collect data generated through your use of the platform, including: IP addresses you submit for scanning, API query logs, scan frequency, blacklist check results, monitoring configurations, alert preferences, and feature usage patterns.

d. Technical & Device Data
We automatically collect: your IP address (the one you connect from), browser type, operating system, referring URLs, session timestamps, and similar technical metadata. This data is used for security, fraud prevention, and service analytics.

e. Communications
If you contact our support team or respond to our communications, we retain those records to improve our service and resolve disputes.

2. What Data We Scan (Third-Party IP Data)
Our core service involves querying publicly available DNS-based blacklists (DNSBLs), reputation databases, and threat intelligence feeds on behalf of our customers. This data is not collected or stored by us — it is queried in real time from third-party providers and returned to you.

The IP addresses you submit for scanning may include addresses belonging to third parties. We treat all submitted IP data as confidential customer data and do not use it for any purpose beyond fulfilling your scan or monitoring request.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data for the following purposes:
Service Delivery — To perform IP reputation scans, blacklist lookups, and monitoring alerts on your behalf.
Account Management — To provision, maintain, and support your account.
API Operations — To authenticate API requests, enforce rate limits, and maintain service integrity.
Billing & Payments — To process subscription fees and usage-based charges.
Security & Fraud Prevention — To detect abuse, protect our infrastructure, and maintain service reliability.
Product Improvement — To analyze usage patterns and improve scan coverage, accuracy, and performance (using aggregated, de-identified data only).
Communications — To send service notifications, security alerts, product updates, and (with your consent) marketing communications.
Legal Compliance — To meet our obligations under applicable laws and regulations.We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your submitted IP data to build profiles for advertising purposes.

4. Data Sharing

We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
Service Providers — We engage trusted vendors (e.g., cloud infrastructure, payment processing, monitoring tools) who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality obligations.
Third-Party Blacklist Providers — When performing scans, queries are sent to third-party DNSBL and reputation providers. These queries contain only the IP address being checked; no account or personal information is transmitted.
Legal Obligations — We may disclose data in response to valid court orders, subpoenas, or applicable law.
Business Transfers — In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you in advance if your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
With Your Consent — We may share data for other purposes with your explicit prior consent.

5. Data Retention
We retain your account and usage data for as long as your account is active, or as required to fulfill our contractual obligations and comply with applicable law.Upon account termination:

Account data is deleted or anonymized within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records, tax compliance).API logs and scan history are deleted within 90 days.

Backup copies are purged within 180 days of deletion from active systems.

You may request early deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8).

6. Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data, including:Encryption in transit (TLS) and at restAPI key authentication and rate limiting

No system can guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys and account credentials. Please notify us immediately at support@konetix.net if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

7. Regulatory Compliance
GDPR (EU/EEA)If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to its processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@konetix.net. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

CCPA (California)
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of their data, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To submit a request, contact us at support@konetix.net or visit our website.

CAN-SPAM / CASL
All marketing communications include a clear unsubscribe mechanism. Opt-out requests are honored within 10 business days. Transactional and service-related communications are not affected by marketing opt-outs.

8. Your Rights & Choices

Regardless of your location, you may:
Access your account data via your dashboard at any time.
Correct inaccurate information in your account settings.
Delete your account and associated data by contacting support@konetix.net.

Export your scan history and account data upon request.

Opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link in any message or through your account notification preferences.

Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting prior processing.
We will respond to all privacy requests within 30 days.

9. Cookies & Tracking
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, and analytics. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.You may disable cookies in your browser settings; however, doing so may affect the functionality of certain features, including your ability to remain logged in.

We do not currently respond to browser Do Not Track (DNT) signals, as no universal DNT standard has been adopted.10. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately.

11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on our platform at least 14 days before taking effect. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
